Often, a customer’s request includes complex geometric shapes that high-volume shops might struggle to do. Complex geometry is gaining popularity in architectural trends—flat lines and perpendicular walls are losing ground to contorted angles which look amazing but are, obviously, difficult to manufacture.
In addition to complex geometric shapes, AMF has extensive experience fabricating panels as unitized assemblies, where several individual panels are pre-assembled and unitized to save time in the field when assembling or installing.
AMF excels in unitized systems for several reasons:
1) We have an enormous spectrum of fabrication equipment and capacity that most panel-only shops do not have. For example, we have in-house, tube lasering capacity, which is an enormous benefit for laser cutting tube or extrusions that support the panels.
Panel-only shops rely on routers and/or plasma cutting but can rarely boast the addition of tube laser or flat-laser capacity.
In addition, we have forming capacity that can handle very heavy gauge materials—also great for setting up unitized assemblies.
Finally, very few panel-only shops can laser cut and form ¼” or ½” thick metal componentry.
Bottom line? AMF can fabricate any skeleton, frame or set of components necessary to unitize panel systems.
